Survival Project
Rube Goldberg Project
Rube video
Rube description
For this project we learned how to calculate different physics concepts such as horizontile projectiles and mechanical advantage, using such things as pulleys and levers. After learning these concepts we split into groups and started to design and build Rube Goldberg Machines. These are complex machines that do a simple task such things as turn on a light switch.
Reflection
1. What hands on skills did you learn through working in your group? (construction, problem solving, collaboration, design, time management, etc...) I learned how to collaborate with group members. I also learned time management and that it is better to start working right away instead of waiting until the last minute and having to rush.
2. What was the hardest part of doing this project, how did you persevere? My group members were very off task so our group got really behind and we had to rush to even have a last step for our rube.
3. What steps were most challenging to make work? (How did you troubleshoot or redesign) The most challenging step in our rube was probably getting the marble to drop out of the lever into the tube. This step was hard because are lever rotated everytime we started the rube and it was hard to get it perfectly lined up.
